Quilting Patterns

Welcome to our Quilt Patterns page! The quilt patterns listed here are done with the top piecing method on paper foundation sheets. The ink is a wax-free ink so that pressing does not smear the lines and get all over your fabric. The paper is a 15 lb. equivalent and easy removal is possible IF you use a very short stitch - about 20 stitches per inch. This method is the old fashioned method the way Crazy Quilts, String Quilts and early Log Cabin Quilts were pieced. The fabric is placed ON TOP of the paper foundation NEXT to the blue line. Your Little Foot or 1/4" presser foot is placed directly ON the line. By placing your fabric a tad to the left of the line you can see the line for your foot placement. The 1/4" seam allowance is drafted into the pattern. I hope to have step by step photos up soon for the various patterns, so stay tuned! For many many years I have vended at quilt shows. I cannot say how many times as people watch my demonstration, I hear whispers of "She's doing it wrong"........ Not wrong, just another way..... I really tried the sewing on the line method and have decided I must be dyslexic because I don't think I'm stupid!! So this method works for me as well as many thousands of you...... Try it, you might like it too!
